High-Rise Window Cleaning Robot Demo — What the X9 Clip Actually Shows

Forty-five seconds of the X9 on vertical glass, and what each part of that footage tells a buyer who is deciding whether to stock it. This page is about reading the demo, not re-listing the spec sheet — the full specification lives on the X9 product page.

X9 on vertical glass — dual spray, variable suction, UPS protection. 45 seconds, no narration.

Quick answer

The X9 is an app-controlled window cleaning robot with a patented dual water spray — one nozzle above the pad, one below — so the glass is wetted on both the outbound and return pass. Suction is variable between 2,800 and 3,200 Pa, a UPS keeps it attached for 20–30 minutes after a power cut, and an 80 kg fire-rescue grade rope is the physical backstop. For buyers, the clip matters because it shows the two things a spec sheet cannot: spray coverage on the pane, and the robot holding position while it changes direction.

What the footage demonstrates, and why each part matters to a buyer

1. Spray on both passes, not just the first

Watch the pad area at the start of a pass and again on the return. A single-nozzle robot wets the pane once and then drags a drying pad back across it, which is what leaves the grey haze that shows up in low sun. The X9 sprays from above and below the pad, feeding from a 70 mL transparent tank, so the second pass starts on wet glass rather than on film.

For a distributor this is the difference between a product that generates returns and one that does not. Streaking is the number one complaint in this category, and it is almost always a spray-coverage problem rather than a suction problem.

2. Holding position while the direction changes

The moment that decides whether a robot survives a high floor is the turn. Suction drops briefly every time the drive direction changes, and the machine has to recover before the pad loses contact. The X9 runs a brushless BLDC motor at 2,800–3,200 Pa and the range is adjustable rather than fixed: raise it for thin or flexing panes and for high-wind elevations, lower it where you want a gentler pass on coated glass.

In the clip the body stays flat against the pane through the corner. That is the behaviour to look for when you evaluate any supplier’s footage — a robot that pivots off the surface or lifts at the edge is telling you the suction recovery is too slow.

3. Edge detection instead of a hard stop

Infrared frame detection reads the window border and stops the unit before it reaches the frame, then the gyroscope path planning covers the remaining area and returns the robot to its starting point when the task ends. That auto-return matters on tall exterior panes: the operator does not have to reach out to retrieve the machine.

4. The safety layer you cannot see in the clip

A 45-second video will not show a power cut. What it can show is that the rope is attached and routed before the robot is placed — and that is the habit your installers should copy. Behind the footage: 20–30 minutes of UPS adsorption after mains loss, an 80 kg fire-rescue grade rope, and a fall alarm. Three independent layers, and each one is separately testable on a sample unit.

Three things this demo cannot prove

Being straight about the limits of a clip is more useful than padding it. Here is what a 45-second indoor recording does not establish, and how to close each gap before you commit to a container.

  • Performance at height and in wind. Suction on a sheltered balcony is not suction at 60 m with a crosswind. Ask for the wind-load test sheet, or run your own test on a sample at the elevation you actually sell into.
  • Pad wear over a season. A new pad on clean glass looks the same as a worn pad for the first twenty minutes. Consumable cost per square metre is a commercial question — request the pad replacement interval and the spare-parts price list.
  • Noise in a real room. ≤65 dB is the rated figure; a phone microphone will not reproduce it. If your buyers are hotels or offices, test a sample in the room it will run in.

How to check any window cleaning robot demo video before you order

This checklist applies to our footage and to every competitor’s. Seven points, five minutes:

  1. Same camera position before and after. A cut between two angles hides streaks.
  2. Continuous take through a corner. The turn is where suction fails.
  3. The model label is visible. Footage of a different SKU is the most common swap.
  4. The safety rope is attached. Unattached rope in a promo clip is a red flag.
  5. The glass is dirty at the start. Clean glass proves nothing on any robot.
  6. Playback speed matches the timer. Speed-ramped footage makes a 4 min/m² machine look like a 90-second one.
  7. Ask for the unedited original. Any supplier who will not send the raw file is telling you something.

Turning this clip into a purchase order

If the footage passes the seven checks, the parameters below are what belong in your PO rather than in a chat message. They are the items that decide whether a shipment is accepted at the port.

Who buys the X9

  • Home appliance distributors adding a high-ticket smart-home SKU to an existing small-appliance range.
  • Online sellers who need a differentiated product rather than another generic single-spray robot at the same price point.
  • Facility and property managers running repeat exterior glass cleaning across multiple buildings, where the 4 min/m² rate and auto-return drive labour cost down.
  • Private-label brands building a cleaning line and needing logo, colour and packaging changeover without a container-sized commitment.

OEM, private label, MOQ and samples

Custom logo, colour and packaging are available, at a low minimum order quantity rather than a container minimum. Volume pricing on bulk orders currently runs from $61 per unit at 500–999 pieces, to $59 at 1,000–2,999, to $57 at 3,000 and above — confirm the current tier with sales before you quote your own market.

Private-label programmes are the most common OEM request from wholesale distributors: your logo on the body, your colourway, your retail box and manual, with the certification labels reprinted to match. ODM tooling changes are quoted separately. Spare pad sets and rope assemblies can be packed into the same carton, so a first season does not need a second parts order.

Samples ship within 5 days, which is the fastest way to close the three gaps the video cannot: wind load at your elevation, pad wear over a season, and noise in the room it will actually run in. Every batch passes a 5-step QC inspection, and certification documentation is supplied with the order.

Where the X9 sits next to the other two

The X9 is the spray-coverage unit of the range: two nozzles, one above the pad and one below, so both passes run on wet glass. Two neighbours matter commercially — one covers narrow glass, the other covers markets that buy on atomisation.

  • G8 Slim kit — 72 mm body, panes down to 150 mm, 145 cm telescopic pole and a 27 cm triangular head. Quote it when the building has gable or transom glass. G8 telescopic pole demo.
  • X11 PRO — 3,000 Pa with dual ultrasonic mist, 95 mm body and a 20-minute UPS. The unit to quote when a market asks for mist atomisation rather than spray.

Every model is listed side by side on the window cleaning robot comparison page, and the rest of the footage is in the demo video library.

Questions buyers ask after watching this clip

What does the X9 demo actually show?

One continuous pass on vertical glass: the upper and lower spray wetting the pane, the body holding flat through a direction change, edge detection at the frame, and the robot returning to its start point. It is a 45-second product demonstration, not a laboratory test.

Is the footage edited or sped up?

This page shows the clip as produced for the catalogue. If you need the unedited original with timecode for due diligence, ask our sales team for the raw file and the test sheet — we send both to buyers evaluating a first order.

Can I get the raw footage and test records before ordering?

Yes. Raw footage, the 5-step QC record for the batch and the certification documents are supplied on request. None of it replaces testing a sample on your own glass, which is why samples ship in 5 days.

How do I test holding force on my own glass?

Order one sample, run it on the thinnest and highest pane you actually sell into, and watch the turn. If the body stays flat through the corner at your elevation, the suction margin is adequate for that market. Repeat with the rope attached and the UPS unplugged once, deliberately.

Does the demo unit match the production specification?

The unit in the clip is the production X9 — 2,800–3,200 Pa brushless BLDC, 70 mL dual spray, 20–30 min UPS, 80 kg rope, 295 × 150 × 85 mm at 1.22 kg. Every batch passes a 5-step QC inspection before shipment.

What do distributors usually ask before a first order?

MOQ and price tier, certification set for their market, sample lead time, pad and spare-parts pricing, and warranty terms. All five are on this page or on the X9 product page.

How fast can I get a sample and a quote?

Samples ship within 5 days. Send your target market and annual volume through the contact form and you will get a quote with the current tier and the certification pack for that region.

Quoting the X9 for a range or a project?

Send your market, target retail price and annual volume — you will get the current price tier, the certification pack and a sample lead time in one reply.
